Access Statement - Loweswater Apartment

Introduction:

Our self-catering apartment is on the first floor of a 4 apartment block. We have tried to provide as much information as possible in this statement, if you have any queries please do call. We look forward to welcoming you.

Pre-Arrival:

Bookings / enquiries can be made via email or phone
There is no public transport servicing the village
There is not a shop in the village
The nearest main line train station at Penrith is about 35 miles away; there are accessible taxis at the station.

Arrival and Car Park Facilities:

On arrival at Mockerkin Mews, the parking area is found at the top of the drive. A designated space, marked as "Loweswater" is provided.

Car park has a flat even tarmac surface
There is no street parking
Parking is 10 metres away from the stairway leading to the apartment

Access to Apartment:

From the parking area, access through the 2.5m x 2.1m metal gates (handle height 1.3 m) gives access to the stairway. The apartment, which is clearly numbered 6, is accessed by a two-staged stairway, the first having 8 steps and the second 12 steps. Each step measures 100 cm wide, 18 cm high and 25 cm deep. The landing is 120 cm square

Living Areas:

The entrance door width is 76cm, door hinged on the right, opening inwards. The key-hole lock is 90cm high. The threshold into the apartment is 13cm. There is a security light at the top of the stairs.

Inside, the L-shaped hallway width is 85cm (3.7m x 4.2m), there are two smoke alarms. No Smoking and exit signs are located in the hallway.

The first door on the left (76cm width) enters into the open plan kitchen (2.9m x 3.4m) Work Top height is 90cm.

Hob is 90cm high and electric. Oven door drops down and the height of the lowest shelf is 40cm
Sink is 90cm high, with cupboard underneath.
Flooring is ceramic tiles
Evenly lit kitchen with spotlights.
Free standing fridge and small chest freezer available.
There is a standard size washing machine and tumble dryer, both front loading.

Through the kitchen into the sitting room and open plan dining area which is 5m x 4.7m.

Flooring is carpet throughout
Furniture is moveable and all is non feather.
Two sofas provided, with arms
Digital TV provided (also available are DVD, stereo with CD, radio and tape) all with remote control, WIFI.

Return to the hallway to continue along to the L-shaped bathroom, access through 75cm door.

Bath with over-head shower available.
Bathroom free area is 1.3m x 1.1m and the bath height is 54cm.
Toilet seat height is 44cm, available space to left is 1 metre (no additional space to the right)
Bathroom is fully tiled.

The second bedroom, located on the right, door width 75cm hinged on the left, opening outwards. The double bed measures 4' 6" and the bed height, floor to top of mattress is 50cm

Feather duvet and non-feather pillows provided.
Sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases are cotton
Bed is movable if more space is required to one side

Master bedroom, located at the end of the hallway. Door entrance is 75cm, door hinged on left, opening inwards. The double bed measures 4'6" and the bed height, floor to top of mattress is 50cm

Feather duvet and non-feather pillows provided.
Sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases are cotton
Bed is movable if more space is required to one side

Grounds and Garden:

Gravelled courtyard with central planted area. Picnic tables are available

Information folder is provided, which also gives details of local transport.
The flat is non smoking
No pets allowed
Good mobile phone reception

Waste Collection:

Rubbish Bins located under stairway. Please place at driveway entrance Thursday evening, for Friday collection.

Situated in a small private mews, our modern 4 star self catering apartment is ideal for a peaceful and relaxing visit to the Western Lake District.  The village of Mockerkin, just outside the National Park, is a mixture of private homes, cottages and working farms.
